Replacing an 8 tall patio door
Here are some pics of a recent project to replace an 8 tall patio door. In the first pic Ive removed the old door. This is done by removing the doors from the hinges, and then cutting the screws behind the jamb. Prep and clean up the opening for the new door (seen below, laying in front of the opening). The door I am installing weighs 400-500 lbs. and is manufactured by Eagle Windows and Doors. Eagle makes a great product - total quality!
Ive installed the new door, making sure to seal under and around the threshold with silicone caulk to protect from water infiltration.
Finally, Ive re-installed the casing, and sanded, sealed, and painted the inside of the door.
